Campus Recreation is a Non-Academic Department that is part of Student Affairs. Campus Recreation programs, facilities and services are funded through student fees and operational income with the purpose of complementing the university's mission by enhancing the campus community through recreational sports and fitness activities.

A. Vision - To provide participatory sports and fitness programs and services to the university community in a manner that meets or exceeds the standard of excellence of the University.

C. Programs
•  Intramural Sports – Sport leagues and tournaments designed for student, faculty and staff competition.
•  Club Sports – Student directed clubs centered around interest in one sport or fitness activity. Most often involves competition among other collegiate club teams.
•  Classes & Clinics – A non-credit, class format for learning new sports or developing new skills in familiar sports.
•  Fitness & Wellness – Programs and services designed to support participant physical exercise and health goals.
•  Outdoor Adventures – Activities that provide an opportunity to overcome a psychological or physical challenge or barrier.

D. Facilities
•  Anteater Recreation Center – a 89,000 square foot indoor facility designed to house Campus Recreation programs.
•  Anteater Recreation Center Fields – a 25 acre outdoor complex that supports Campus Recreation Field and court activities.
•  Sailing Facility – Dock spaced leased from Orange Coast College that supports UC Irvine's sailing fleet.
