  Shuai Jiao (Chinese Wrestling) is the oldest form of martial arts practiced in China.   Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a self-defense art that focuses on grappling which positions the defender in advantageous positions, allowing him/her to physically manipulate his/her opponent. The defender does so by applying joint locks and holds, using proper body weight distribution and leverage on the ground.

  Judo is a Japanese Martial art derivate from Jiujutsu. Judo is best known for its spectacular throwing techniques, but it also involves considerable grappling on the ground utilizing specialized pins, control holds, arm locks, and Judo sumbission techniques.. Judo is based on the principle of using one's opponent's strength against them and adapting well to changing circumstances.

  Kendo is the art of sword fighting. Students learn to use a bamboo-made sword to strike effective blows on targeted areas of the body and develop competing skills, as well as the etiquette and philosophy behind it.

  Escudo (SHIELD) MMA is a Mixed Martial Art designed to quickly teach students to be able to neutralize a physical attack from a single or multiple attackers and then escape to safety. Students are trained with scenarios so they will automatically go into a solid stance and maintain it whenever an attack begins. The movements are easily learned by people of all builds, abilities, and age ranges.

  Yang Style Tai Chi focuses on balance and harmony within the concept of Chinese Taoism 'Yin-Yang.' Relaxation and concentration are emphasized in both the mind and body. The core of the body is strengthened and flexibility is promoted through gentle stretching and graceful movements. Mind and body are nourished, cultivated, and energized using slow, repetitive movements. Instructor will guide students to learn Yang 24 forms with additional breathing exercises which will lead to increased internal energy(Chi).

  Wing Chun Kung Fu is a southern style Chinese martial art designed to disrupt and disable an opponent quickly and efficiently. Famous as the style that the late Bruce Lee first studied, Wing Chun uses structure to overcome aggression, employing unique understanding of body mechanics, angles, and sensitivity to simultaneously defend and attack.
Information for all Martial Arts Participants: Training uniforms may be required for some classes. Please check with the instructor on the first day of class. Uniforms are available for quarterly rental at Gear Up - $15 basic uniform and $15 for Iaido. All class fees must be paid prior to the first class meeting.
