Archery - Rubin Hipolito was the CA State Champ in the College Male Compund (Indoors and Outdoors). Will Southard was ranked 26th Nationally in the College Male Recurve.
Badminton - Got 1st place at 2008 Nationals for second year in a row. Defeated UC Berkeley 6-5 in an informal meet. Beat UC Riverside 8-4. Held a tournament in February, 2008 at UCI.
Biking - Club held a team BBQ, which was a great success. Club took part in casual mountain bike ride. Took part in a Mountain Bike Race at Mt. SAC.
Break Dance - Break Dance bonded as a club through charity dance events.
Cricket - UCI beat CSU Fullerton at their first game of the season. UCI beat UCSD by 150 runs - arguably the best win in the history of UCI Cricket!
Fencing - At the Fencing Collegiate Tournament, Melissa Chiang got 5th place in Women's Foil, Ryan Montanari got 8th place in Men's Foil, and Joe Wolf got 8th Place in Men's Epee. At UCLA, UCI women’s foil team won 3rd place in the competition. At another Fencing Tournament in February, Women's Foil placed 4th in conference, Melissa Chiang placed 4th overall, Nadia Lee placed 8th Women's Foil.
Field Hockey - Field Hockey members grew as a team through travelling. They also learned to work together by fundraising for their club at Home Depot.
Hiking - The hiking club enjoyed cool and misty weather for a six mile hike in the Cleveland National Forest, Trabuco District. Hiked an intense, nearly 12 mile hike in heat and difficult terrain at El Moro Canyon. Held their first overnight hike at San Jacinto Mountain.
Ice Hockey - UCI overcame a 4-2 deficit to win its first game of the season. UCI tied LMU 3-3 at Staples Center. UCI pulled out a big victory over UC San Diego. The two teams are battling for a playoff spot in the Southern Division of the PCHA.
Men's Lacrosse - LAXtoberfest now has 10 teams competing in the tournament. 11 new players joined the team for the 2007-2008 school year. UCI Lacrosse now has a sponsorship with Harrow Sports.
Women's Lacrosse - Won the game 10-7 against CSU Fullerton. Held a W. Lacrosse Play Day, which is a tournament-like competition that included teams from the WWLL league in a pre-season Playday. UCI won the game against USC's B team.
Orienteering - UCI hosted a mock competition at UCI with CSULB in March. Came in 2nd place at the CSUDH invitational in April. Came in with the highest average score amongst seven teams at the San Diego State Invitational.
Roller Hockey - Named NCRHA National Tournament Final Four. Named WCRHL Division I Regional Champions. Charlie Middleton, Mike Tasch, and Fabian Mueller all made the WCRHL All Star Team. Charlie Middleton set the NCRHA Record for most points and most goals in a single season.
Men's Rugby - Placed 1st in the CSULB 4th Annual Fall Tournament. Combined record for the year of 12-3. League Champions of the SCRFU So Cal DII league. Made it to the finals of So Cal DII.
Men's Soccer - Hosted the largest Tournament in League called the Anteater Invitational in which 16 teams competed. UCI placed 3rd at the Anteater Invitational. Defeated Weber State at a Preseason Tournament.
Women's Soccer - Tied with Long Beach at the UCSB Tournament. Played UC Riverside in first League game. Won the UCLA Bruin Classic out of 3 other teams.
Surf - At the C Street Tournament, Nick Ivarsson tied for 14th overall out of more than 150 surfers in the competition. At the San Fernando Event, Zack O'Brien - 5th in 1st heat, Taylor Hein - 6th in 1st heat , Skyler Taugher - 6th in 1st heat , Sam Figeroua - 5th in 1st heat , Mark Cole - 5th in 1st heat , Nick Ivarson - 4th in 2nd heat.
Table Tennis - Participated in two tournaments during the year and placed 3rd in Regionals.
Tennis - UCI placed 15th overall at USTA Nationals. At Nationals, UCI made the Gold Bracket which placed UCI in top 16 of all clubs in the Nation. At UCLA, Josh Yee and Brian Lee went undefeated. In Men’s Doubles A Division, Sam Choe and Mark Gonzales reached the finals of the consolation draw. In Mixed A Division, Mark Chen and Joy Akahoshi reached the finals.
Triathlon - Hosted the first annual UCI Zot Trot Triathlon and 5K in February 2008. At the UCSD Ironman Triathlon, Alison Vass and Sarah DeYoreo placed 1st and 3rd in the collegiate women’s race. Respectively. Kareem Adnan placed 3rd in the collegiate men’s race.
Men's Ultimate - Held the 4th annual Irvine Invite in which 16 teams played in the tournament. Ended the Las Vegas tournament with a 47th place finish. Brian Nguyen received the Irvine Tournament MVP award for outstanding play at the UCSD Tournament.
Women's Ultimate - Played in tournaments at UCLA, UCSD, and Vegas. Held 1st tournament, Irvine Invite, as a Club in March. Qualified at the Southern California Sectionals to play at Regionals in Arizona.
Men's Volleyball - Won the Silver Bracket of Division 1AA at NIRSA Nationals. Placed 2nd in the UCI Winter Tournament. Placed 3rd in the Silver Bracket of Las Vegas Open.
Women's Volleyball - Finished 3rd in the SCCVL League Championships. Finished 2nd in UCI Tournament in December. Qualified to go to the NIRSA National Volleyball Tournament in Dallas, Texas. Won the silver division with a record of 8-1 at Nationals.
Women's Water Polo - This is their first year as a Club.. Overall they placed 6th in League. Participated in fundraising on Ring Road.
