  Sign up for best adventure of the year! We will ferry over to Catalina Island and be hosted for 6 wonderful days. We will have the opportunity to snorkel, kayak, hike, swim and even snorkel at night in the amazing coves around Catalina Island. We will also be learning about and helping our hosts preserve the natual grounds of this fragile ecosystem by learning to compost, repair trails, remove invasive plants and many other useful projects. Our meals will be provided by the camp's food service and we will be staying in cabins just a few feet from the ocean. This is the best deal you'll find for Catalina!   Another urban adventure so don't wait! Jump on board and be part of the fun. This time to the coastline of LA and Malibu. We will hike the beautiful Malibu hills, tour the Getty Villa and get crazy with the locals in Venice. Bring your walking shoes and make sure your camera is charged because there's lots to see on this Urban Adventure! Transportation is provided.
The pre-trip meeting will be held on 4/28/16 at 7:30pm in the ARC Conference Room.
Ortega Falls Climbing Fees: $35/$45  Date:   Sat 4/16 Registration Deadline: Fri, 4/15 REGISTER NOW
  This is a great rock climbing spot close to campus. We can spend the day on the rock and have you back to campus for the evening. No experience needed. It's a great spot to climb! The pre-trip meeting will be held on 4/14/16 at 7:30pm in the ARC Conference Room. We will carpool to the trailhead. Participants are responsible for their own food.
LA Urban Adventure Fees: $55/$65  Date:   Sat 5/7 Registration Deadline: Th, 5/5 REGISTER NOW
  We will hike to the iconic Hollywood sign in the beautiful Hollywood hills, explore the walk of fame, visit Griffith Park Observatory for a star party and sample some unique LA eateries. Transportation is provided so bring your walking shoes and your spirit of adventure for an interesting day of outdoorsy LA fun.
Be sure to attend our pre trip meeting on Thursday May 5th at 7:30pm in the ARC Conference room to get all the details before we go.
Backpack Workshop FREE  Date:   Fr 5/13 Registration Deadline: Fri, 5/13 REGISTER NOW
  This unique workshop will be loaded with information on backpacking and travel items. It will focus on gear that you will need, cost- benefit of those items and how best to manage sleep systems, footwear and multiple use items. This is a great workshop for anyone who wants to start backpacking, has questions about backpacking or needs to learn how to be a compact adventure traveler.

  Malibu Creek State Park, home of Planet of the Apes and MASH is also the home of some great climbing! We will head out for a day on the rocks and a snapshot of nostalgia. Beginners and experienced climbers will have plenty of fun routes to challenge them. On the way home is a sweet stop at Diddy Riese for the best ice cream cookie sandwich you've ever created! You don't want to miss it!

SCUBA - Open Water Certification Fees: $189 - $214   Call 824-3738

Description:   SCUBA classes are 7 weeks in length including the orientation, and provide students with an SSI certification.  Classes include classroom, pool and ocean dives sessions set up with your Sea Stallion instructor.  All participants will attend a Saturday orientation session for the course they plan to attend. The orientation takes place from 10 to 11:50am, other sessions will vary in length and location. There are 2 pool dives with lessons that require a full day commitment. In addition, ocean dives will take place on Saturdays and Sundays from approximately 7:30am-12:30pm.  Students will need to purchase their own personal equipment, that can be purchased at Sea Stallions but all other required equipment is included in the class fee.  Personal Gear consists of a mask, snorkel, fins, booties and gloves.  

The orientation will take place at Sea Stallions Dive Shop at 21098 Bake Parkway Suite # 108 in Lake Forest at 10am on the Saturday morning listed in the schedule. You may attend the SCUBA orientation without signing up before hand in order to ask questions and understand how the schedule will run. If you plan to attend the orientation session prior to registration, please contact the Outdoor Adventure Director, Doug Tully at 949-824-0388 or dtully@uci.edu so that the session is not inadvertently cancelled. Scuba registration is accepted at the ARC Sales Desk (open Monday - Friday 8am-6pm) in person or over the phone at 949-824-3738.
