UC Irvine Campus Recreation
The UCI Sailing Association (UCISA)
is a club sponsored through Campus Recreation. UCISA members have individual personal access to UCI's fleet of Capri 14 dinghies and “Shields” keelboats. The Club is open to UCI Students, staff, faculty, alumni and their spouses as well as alumni of all UC schools. Students include full time regular students and alumni means that you graduated from a UC School.
There are several different levels of membership - each a different rating that requires a written and practical exam.
Getting started: Taking classes is a great way to gain sailing experience and get started in using the boats. You can also join as a CREW member, get on the email list, and start joining the fun. Crew membership applications are available at the Campus Recreation services.
UCISA also has a wide range of sailing and social activities open to members. Members take great pride in the friendly encouraging atmosphere that makes the club unique. Those with little or no experience are welcome to many of the events. Club events include night and evening sails, bay and ocean races, Lido fest, bbq's and more. Check out the club calendar for dates.
