Team Up! stimulates teams with both mental and physical problem-solving activities. Through carefullydesigned and led activities, individuals and teams explore self-imposed boundaries and develop strategies for improved performance. All teams progress through three main programmatic components:
1. Warm-ups and Icebreakers: Activities that help participants set aside fear of embarrassment and
establish a safe learning environment.
2. Initiatives: These activities require minimal physical activity but require a high degree of interaction as the
team works collaboratively to solve problems.
3. Challenge Activities: These activities involve physical and mental tasks conducted low to the ground.
Success requires team effort and physical support. Some groups will choose the higher level of challenge
inherent in our fourth programmatic component, our new state-of-the-art Odyssey Course.
4. Odyssey Course: This is a series of unique team challenge activities that take place high in the air! This
heightened level of perceived risk further challenges teams to truly overcome very tangible obstacles.
The common factor to ail events is challenge. The experience consists of a series of planned challenges that require problem-solving skills, teamwork, individual commitment, and cooperative action. Team Up! utilizes experiential learning, i.e. "learning by doing." At one level, the challenge may be physical, requiring a certain level of strength and coordination. Another level may require less physical effort, yet the challenge may seem emotionally or mentally overwhelming. Still other elements will focus on mental challenges that require a creative problem-solving process. The various levels cannot be classified rigidly as challenging only one domain; instead, various levels inherently involve all of them. The common denominator among all activities is the presence of challenge that requires interaction among team members.
