OUTDOOR ADVENTURE TRIPS

Bring a friend and sign up for best adventure of the year! We will ferry over to Catalina Island and be hosted for 5 wonderful days. We will have the opportunity to snorkel, kayak, hike, swim and even snorkel at night in the amazing coves around Catalina Island. We will also be learning about and helping our hosts preserve the natual grounds of this fragile ecosystem by learning to compost, repair trails, remove invasive plants and many other useful projects. Our meals will be provided by the camp's food service and we will be staying in cabins just a few feet from the ocean. This is the best deal you'll find for Catalina! It's a perfect way t ospend Spring Break isalnd style! Please see notes on transportation for this trip. Pre-Trip Meeting: March 5th.

NOTE: Participants must arrange their own transportation to and from Catalina Express in San Pedro for this trip. The cost of the ferry ticket, food, lodging and activities is all included in the price of the trip. The only thing that is not included is getting to Catalina Express.

We will hike to the iconic Hollywood sign in the beautiful Hollywood hills, explore the walk of fame, visit Griffith Park Observatory for a star party and sample some unique LA eateries. Transportation is provided so bring your walking shoes and your spirit of adventure for an interesting day of outdoorsy LA fun. The pre-trip meeting will be held on 4/2/20 at 6pm in the ARC Conference Room.

  This is a fun easy hike to get spring quarter started on the right foot!  It’s close to campus and just what you need to start your day right. Starts at Quail Hills Community Center.
Student Trip Leader Training Fees: $15/$25 Dates: Tuesdays 4/7-5/26 Times: 7:00pm - 8:30pm REGISTER NOW
 

You can gain self confidence through outdoor leadership. Join our leadership training program and you will have the opporturnity to grow in amazing ways. Students will recieve training skills such as camp craft, wilderness first aid and rock climbing as well as leadership, group dynamics and decision making. If you have ever wanted to work in the outdoors then this is the course for you. It is also a fantastic opportunity to get involved at UCI! This is a training course to prepare outdoor trip leaders either at UCI or in other similar programs. Outside certifications and/or work may be required.

Backpacking Workshop - Survival Skills Fees: $10/$15 Date: Th 4/9 Times: 7:00pm - 8:30pm REGISTER NOW
 

This is a great workshop for anyone spending time in the outdoors who needs to know how to best survive when plans have gone array. We will discuss topics such as being found when lost, primitive shelters, useful wilderness items to carry to help you find your way and more. It's like you have Bear Grylls giving you special survival tips so that you will be prepared.

Orega Falls Climbing Fees: $35/$45 Date: Sat 4/18 Times: 8:00am - 4:00pm REGISTER NOW
 

This is a great rock climbing spot close to campus. We can spend the day on the rock and have you back to campus for the evening. No experience needed. It's a great spot to climb! The pre-trip meeting will be held on 4/16/20 at 6pm in the ARC Conference Room. We will carpool to the trailhead. Participants are responsible for their own food.

Echo Cliffs is a great place for climbing and a really nice area with a great hike to the climbs. Beginners and experienced climbers will have plenty of fun routes to challenge them. You don't want to miss it! The pre-trip meeting will be held on 5/4/20 at 6pm in the ARC Conference Room.
