Looking for a new place to climb? Apple Valley has been developing routes! Located in the high desert near Barstow this rock is granite very similar to Joshua Tree. This is a sport climbing area with a pretty short approach so that means it's a good place for beginners to try outdoor rock climbing. Plenty of fun routes for veteran climbers too!

We will carpool. No climbing experience necessary. All climbing gear will be provided for the trip. Pre Trip meeting is scheduled for Thursday November 21st, 6:30pm in ARC Conference room

Instructor: Doug Tully will emphasize common outdoor situations and conduct numerous practical scenarios for students to practice their new first aid skills. Certifying body: American Safety and Health (ASHI) Boy Scout approved course for wilderness first aid Course description: 16 hour course that involves lecture as well as simulations that cover environmental, biological and medical emergencies encountered in wilderness settings. Great little hikes close to campus to get out for a few hours and enjoy the fresh air. We will give you the trailhead location so you can meet us. Outdoor Adventures will give you a short list of recommended items for the particular location. Bring a friend and come join us for a nice local adventure! Jan 18 to El Moro Canyon.

Backpacking Workshop - Navigation Fees: $5/$10 Date: Tu 1/23 Times: 7:00pm - 9:00pm REGISTER NOW
  This is a great workshop for anyone spending time in the outdoors who needs to know how to read maps and find coordinates to know where they are. We will use a variety of techniches to help you use tools, natural markers, sighting methods and others that will give you the knowledge you need to never be lost!

This is a great rock climbing spot close to campus. We can spend the day on the rock and have you back to campus for the evening. Last year there was so much water at Ortega Falls we couldn't get to the climbs. If you have been gym climbing you owe it to yourself to get outdoors and climb real rocks!

Another urban adventure so don't wait! Jump on board and be part of the adventure. This time to Joshua Tree National Park for some hiking, fun rock hopping and great photograph opportunities! Coachella Nature Preserve to see an actual desert oasis and Pioneertown are two other fun spots we will visit along the way.

Transportation is provided. The pre-trip meeting will be on Thursday, January 30th in the ARC Conference Room.

New Jack City Rock Climbing Fees: $35/$45 Date: Sat 2/29 Times: 7:00am - 5:00pm REGISTER NOW
 

New Jack City is a great fun climbing crag in the high dessert. If you are a beginner there is nothing like climbing on real rock and New Jack has some great beginner climbs. For the advanced climber you'll love the mesomorphic rock formations and problems New Jack gives a climber. It's a favorite spot of many So Cal climbers. Get your friends and let's all go climbing!

Pre-trip meeting will be on Thursday, February 27 in the ARC conference room.

Catalina Spring Break & Service Project Fees: $250/$275 Dates: Mon 3/23 - Fri 3/27 Times: 10:00am - 8:00pm REGISTER NOW
 

Bring a friend and sign up for best adventure of the year! We will ferry over to Catalina Island and be hosted for 5 wonderful days. We will have the opportunity to snorkel, kayak, hike, swim and even snorkel at night in the amazing coves around Catalina Island. We will also be learning about and helping our hosts preserve the natual grounds of this fragile ecosystem by learning to compost, repair trails, remove invasive plants and many other useful projects. Our meals will be provided by the camp's food service and we will be staying in cabins just a few feet from the ocean. This is the best deal you'll find for Catalina! It's a perfect way t ospend Spring Break isalnd style! Please see notes on transportation for this trip. Pre-Trip Meeting: March 5th.

NOTE: Participants must arrange their own transportation to and from Catalina Express in San Pedro for this trip. The cost of the ferry ticket, food, lodging and activities is all included in the price of the trip. The only thing that is not included is getting to Catalina Express.
