When will the Anteater Recreation Center be open for in-person activities?
In-person access to Campus Recreation facilities, including the ARC, remains unavailable at this time. We will resume in-person operations when public health conditions allow.
Are any pools (ARC, Crawford Hall) available since they are outdoors?
We understand that pools in the area may be open, but Campus Recreation continues to follow the latest guidance from campus and public officials, which requires that our pools remain closed.
What can I do to stay active?
We have created extensive original content and curated a variety of online programming designed to keep us moving forward together from home. Find something that suits your needs and interests. Anteaters at Home will be regularly updated as new classes, programs and offerings become available.
What is Campus Recreation doing to prepare for resumption of in-person activities & helping prevent the transmission of COVID-19?
We continue to research and develop operational models and cleaning processes for when we are able to resume in-person operations. In addition, we will be asking our members to take safety precautions as advised by UCI such as wearing a face covering and physically distancing when using our facilities or participating in our programs.
What kind of programming will you be offering in the fall?
UCI Club Sports and Intramural Sports are planning to operate virtually for the fall quarter, however, decisions on the status of other in-person fall programming and facility access have not yet been made and will be informed by the latest guidance from campus and public officials.
To keep our members moving and staying healthy from home, we will be expanding our Anteaters at Home for fall. We are excited to bring you even more online and virtual opportunities to stay active. Anteaters at Home will be regularly updated as new classes, programs and offerings become available.
If NCAA teams are allowed to practice and play, why aren’t club sports teams?
The resumption of UCI’s Division I sports teams, as part of UCI Athletics, are being determined by the NCAA, not Campus Recreation. Campus Recreation is following the guidance of campus and local public health officials, which have determined that our in-person access to our facilities, programs, and services need to remain unavailable until further notice.
