Olympic Weightlifting Classes - All Levels

Beginning Olympic Weightlifting is taught by the ARC's Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists and Level 1 USAW coaches. This class is for students with limited or no weightlifting experience. The class is designed to teach proper squat and deadlift technique before moving onto the progressions of the Olympic Snatch, and the Clean and Jerk. Private or semi-private coaching sessions are available upon request.

Private & Semi Private Coaching
Olympic Weightlifting is taught by the ARC's Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists and Level 1 USWA coaches. Private or semi-private coaching sessions are available upon request.  For more information or questions on Olympic Lifting, please contact Josh Friesen.
Private Coaching: $40/session    
Semi-Private Coaching: $50/session ($25 each)

Olympic Weightliftin Training

The Anteater Recreation Center is excited to introduce an Olympic weightlifting area in the Fitness Lab. Complete with an Olympic lifting platform, bumper plates and liquid chalk, the Olympic lifting area is a monitored, controlled space where UCI students and ARC Members may perform Olympic-style lifts after meeting certain safety criteria. Weightlifting for Women - She Gainz

Calling all ladies! Are you interested in beginning your journey in lifting weights for fitness? We are here to help you on your quest. This 2 hour crash course will get you familiar with using barbells, dumbbells, and kettlebells when exercising at the ARC.
Women's Weightlifting Crew

The women’s weightlifting crew is a small group weight lifting class for women who enjoy lifting heavy weights and already feel comfortable with the basic movements (squat, deadlift, lunge, push, pull, rotation, and locomotion), but would like guidance from a coach. Your coach will design a full body workout utilizing barbells, dumbbells, and other equipment, and will be your spotter when you need it most.
Ladies Who Lift 1.0

Led by a certified strength coach, Ladies Who Lift teaches the fundamentals of strength training in an empowering and inclusive environment for all individuals identifying themselves as females. Through the development of proper exercise form and technique, women will build muscle, increase strength, and improve confidence to be able to incorporate various exercises into their own strength training programs. By registering online, participants will receive the following:
One 1-hour session per week for ten weeks | Pre and post testing consisting of body composition, grip strength and posture | Explanations and demonstrations of the various strength training movements | Instruction on how to build a basic strength training program | Incorporation of a variety of resistance equipment including barbells, dumbbells, and kettlebells.
