UCI Campus Recreation - WorkStrong program picture

As of October 12th, 2020: We are excited to announce that the fitness facilities at UCI have been reinstated by the University. As a result, WorkStrong has been given the green light to resume all in-person training sessions, pending some university-wide precautions as follows:

  • All in-person sessions at the Anteater Recreation Center will take place in our new outdoor workout space on the pool deck.
  • All in person sessions at the Medical Center will take place in our indoor fitness facility, limited to 1 trainer, and 1 client inside the room, with the door open during the session. Sessions may also take place outside on the grass, just adjacent to our indoor space.
  • All WorkStrong clients must wear a face covering during the session. Trainers and WorkStrong staff will wear a face covering and a face shield.
  • All UCI staff must complete a daily symptom check prior to the start of the session, and must get a flu shot by October 30th.
  • All equipment will be disinfected after each training session with state of the art electrostatic sprayers and virucidal disinfectant solution.
  • All 1-on-1 sesisons other than personal training sessions (initial or follow up consultations, registered dietitian appointments) have been switched to virtual sessions via Zoom. Our massage therapy option is on hold until further notice.
  • A mandatory waiver must be signed stating that your health and/or condition has not changed in the last 6 months. If your health has changed, or if it has been longer than 6 months, you will need to revisit your doctor for an updated status report.
